Bishop Carcaño Speaks at Prayer for Christian Unity Service

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m., the North State Ecumenical Conference (NSEC) will host the screening of the 2021 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity prayer service at

The NSEC is a gathering of judicatory representatives that serve as a forum for on-going discussion of theological themes that facilitate leaders from different cultures and church traditions to work together. The purpose of the conference is to develop and express ongoing unity in Jesus Christ in witness to the world.

The NSEC’s purpose is to celebrate and respect diversity that enriches the faith and order of all participants without advocating uniformity. The conference meets to keep communication and discussion open within local respective Christian denominations, to learn more about one another, and to foster Christian unity.

Historically, NSEC has hosted ecumenical study days, special worship services and ecumenical activities.  Currently, NSEC supports the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which includes an ecumenical worship service with a keynote speaker.  This year that speaker is The Right Rev. Bishop Minerva G. Carcano, the presiding Prelate of the California-Nevada Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, in other words she is our Bishop.
