Construction Update

Exciting news! The demolition work phase starts next week and is the beginning of a project that will make our building more functional, comfortable, safe, and accessible.
Construction will continue until March of 2022. For the majority of the construction we will retain access to our office, terrace room, kitchen, restrooms, and upstairs classrooms but occasionally, construction may reroute our usual traffic patterns, room usage, or limit access to portions of the building. I will update you on each new phase that will affect us as the project progresses.
Currently there are two confirmed jobs that will impact you by prohibiting entry to the sanctuary and limiting bathroom access.
What does this mean for you and your family?

  • All access or visits to the sanctuary are cancelled. It is now a construction zone and the no access policy is in place for everyone’s safety.
  • When the new flooring for the women’s restroom arrives, that bathroom will temporarily be closed. Please watch your newsletter for more information and signage in areas to direct you.
  • The single-user bathroom in the Chapel will remain open for use.
  • If you are at the Church building during the work week, please be advised that there will be more people in and around the building while construction is in process. The increase in workers could reduce available parking spots.

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to FUMC’s Facility Manager for more information. Email address is or by phone at 916-247-5890.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and attention to this and forthcoming communications throughout the construction project. We look forward to enjoying the newly renovated space with you in the future.
