Feminine Hygiene Project

As part of the Community Meals efforts we have recently started a new program to support Feminine Hygiene for young women in need.  This project is supported by UCD Health Literacy Program.

Many members of the United Methodist Women and the Mom’s groups have donated pads, tampons, and wipes as well as sewing bags to hold these items.  The bags are being handed out to young women that attend the community meals.

Our goal is to work at expanding these efforts and partnering with the SHOWUP showers to make bags available to a broader community base.

Cinde Dolphin is our contact to this UCD Health Literacy program, Sandy Adams is the representative to the UMW and Mom’s groups and Patricia Daugherty is working with Sac Steps Forward to obtain additional supply items.

If any seamstresses are looking for a project please contact Patricia Daugherty  or Sandy Adams for the pattern and information for making the bags that hold the items.
