On Friday December 10th during the excavation of the north interior of the sanctuary bones were discovered. All work at the job site had to stop immediately. A call was placed to the local Sacramento City Police Department who came out to investigate and recommended that we contact the deputy coroner. The deputy coroner felt that this was not human remains but recommended that the church hire an archaeologist to investigate. On Tuesday December 14th the archaeologist released his findings saying that the bones were that of a small pig. Our job site has now been released to continue the stabilization process and we are currently remobilizing the work crews. We are hopeful that this is the only bone discovery we will make on site but I want to reassure everyone that all bone discoveries will be handled with the utmost seriousness and sensitivity.
