Some may already know about Sister Libby. If you don’t, she is an amazing advocate for the unsheltered in midtown Sacramento. Her mode of transportation is a three-wheeled bicycle and it travels to gatherings of those who are vulnerable and/or unhoused.
The bike setup includes hot coffee canisters, small medical items like bandages and hand sanitizer, hats, socks, and snacks. A member of our Love First UMC Community Meals project, Cinde Dolphin, went along for a ride last week and distributed feminine hygiene bags. The bags and contents are the result of the work of Sandy Adams and the MOMs group.
According to Sister Libby, the bags are a huge blessing and will help many women living without resources sufficient to pay for monthly hygiene items. FUMC also provides these valuable bags to Mark’s ShowUp Showers, held in Love First’s parking lot, and from the resource cart at Community Meals.
Another example of the generous hearts within our FUMC family!
